Setbacks and Other Ideas

Five Potential Set Backs:

  • It is possible that there is already a product similar to mine and it may have not have worked out in the past
  • It may be to difficult to make lots of different stud holes and be costly to make hundreds of different prototypes
  • People may not feel the need to buy another accessory for the sport they play
  • Some may think its another unneeded necessity for soccer/football players
  • Famous people may not use it then they won’t promote it, therefore there won’t be a chain reactions

Three Other Ideas Connected To Your Passion:

I want to make transport and other accessories used in soccer easier to use/take off/put on etc.

  • Drink bottles that have a clip that attaches to the outside of your bag, prevents leaks, easy to access, won’t forget.
  • A recyclable bag lining to stop dirt getting all through your bag
  • Wipes that can go in the washing machine that can be used to wipe off your boots after games, no plastic bag required for your boots

Marketing Plan – Soccer Slips

The 4P’S

Soccer Slips are a product that will make life simpler. People of any age can use this product and who play football or soccer. This can make the trip from the car and to the field much simpler and stress and money free.

I think I will try and partner up with a brand for example; Nike, Adidas, Asics etc and sell my slips with the boots (it could be optional). I think that if I partner with a brand a just charge a little extra it will give me an easy audience.

There is nothing quite like Soccer Slips the new inventive way of saving money on soccer boots. By wearing these slips it protects your studs from concrete and other hard surfaces.

My product will probably be in the medium price range

As it won’t be cheap to make these as there will have to be multiple types as not all studs are positioned in the same way. So it will probably be from $10-$30.

I think it will probably be closer to the high end of the market rather than the lower area. I believe famous soccer players like Messi, Ronaldo and Kurr would use this product and then this would set off a chain reaction and younger players would want to ‘be like’ their role models. Eventually, all soccer and football players would want a pair of Soccer Slips.

I think using social media platforms is the modern way of advertisement. And for example, using players that have lots of followers on Instagram will help me promote my product greatly.

Shouting Cleverily

  • Identify your target audience. Who is likely to buy your product/service?

I think the most likely audience to purchase my products would be young soccer and football players.

  • What is your communication objective? How do you evoke the purchase decision? Is it through awareness, knowledge, liking or preference?

I think once a few people from different areas (or different clubs eg. Adelaide University, Adelaide city, Comets etc) it will spread. Once someone’s friend has it they will want it.

  • Design your message. Is it a rational, emotional or moral message? Is it a combination of all three?

I think that my message is quite rational as I want to give a sense of ease and shorten the time for taking off and putting soccer/football boots back on. It will be short, simple and catchy so it will be easy to remember.

  • Choose the media. Will you use social media, traditional advertising or word of mouth?

I would use social media to promote my product. I would target teenage football/soccer players with a high follower count to help boost my sales. Instagram influencers would definitely be a target.

  • Message Source. Who will be the face of your communication: you or a celebrity?

Possibly a female soccer player. While I promote my product I can also promote how female soccer players are underpaid and given fewer opportunities. I think Sam Kurr could be the perfect face of my promotion.

My business idea.

I am thinking of creating a cover that goes on the studs of your soccer boots. I thought that it could be the same material used for gel soles. Instead, it has indentations for the studs to sit in. This will solve the problem for all soccer players having to take their boots on when walking on concrete or to the car after a game/training. When boots are used on rough surfaces (eg. concrete, brick etc.) the studs are run down. With these gel slip ons the boots will stay in perfect condition and add a sense of ease to people’s lives.

What are the skills and attributes entrepreneurs need to be successful?

Entrepreneurs are independent and usually have self-ran businesses.

Entrepreneurs are proactive and take control of situations rather than sit back and observe. They use each opportunity they’re given and take action on issues within their community. It is important to have the dedication and keep going. Having an open mindset towards problems helps entrepreneurs grow and giving themselves the freedom to make mistakes. With dedication, a daring and proactive attitude, entrepreneurs are bound to succeed.
